Leaf Program

The Batavia Township Highway Department is also providing a leaf removal program for the township residents.  This program starts approx. the week of October 22nd, 2012 and ends the week of November 19th, 2012 (The week of Thanksgiving).  If your pile of leaves was not picked up, one or more of the rules listed below was violated.

- Pile cannot contain grass clippings, brush or any other foreign objects or material.  Absolutely no metal objects!  These types of objects can clog and/or damage our leaf machine.

- The width of the pile must be roughly 6 feet wide so our machine can reach it.  We do not rake leaves into the machine.

- Under no circumstances may piles of leaves be stacked in the roadway.  When leaves are wet and stacked in the roadway they become very slippery which can lead to car accidents or personal injury.

- Please refrain from stacking leaves around mailboxes, sign posts, electrical boxes etc.
